    L'originario Convento di Santo António fu fondato nella prima metà del XVI secolo dai frati cappuccini della Provincia di Piedade, appartenenti all'ordine religioso di San Francesco. Tuttavia, fu alla fine del XVII secolo che fu costruito l'edificio che vediamo oggi, situato vicino al primo.
    Oggi si conservano la struttura del presbiterio, la navata e il chiostro. Quest'ultimo si sviluppa su due piani: il piano terra fiancheggiato da archi a tutto sesto poggianti su pilastri in pietra, e il piano superiore da archi a sesto ribassato, anch'essi poggianti su pilastri in pietra.
