    Molte attività ricreative come windsurf, canoa e moto d'acqua sono consentite su questo lago. Sulla sponda nord, una volta superata la diga, è stata realizzata un'ampia area picnic. In questa zona troverete anche un ristorante. Questo specchio d'acqua offre splendide foto, soprattutto in una giornata senza vento quando la Sierra Nevada è ricoperta di neve.
    Il bacino artificiale di Cubillas è una delle principali aree di birdwatching della provincia di Granada, poiché funge da stazione di transito per le migrazioni e da spazio di nidificazione per alcune specie.
