The Haus Demmin Ruins, located southeast of the Hanseatic city of Demmin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, represent a significant historical site.     Il nome Haus Demmin si riferisce alle rovine di un castello principesco della Pomerania (castello con fossato) e di una casa padronale a sud-est della città anseatica di Demmin su un'isola alla confluenza del Tollense e del Peene. Il castello in rovina è il più antico edificio secolare conservato in Pomerania ed è considerato la "culla" di questa regione.

    I duchi della Pomerania occidentale risiedevano nel complesso del castello "Haus Demmin" (XII/XIII secolo). Il castello fu menzionato per la prima volta nel 1127. Nel 1128 il duca di Pomerania Wartislaw I e il vescovo Otto von Bamberg si incontrarono nel suo secondo viaggio missionario.

    Intorno al 1850 fu costruita un'altra "Haus Demmin" - una casa padronale in stile tardo classico per il scudiero Vorwerk di Podewils. Successivamente, la famiglia di Hans-Joachim von Rohr la utilizzò come casa padronale fino al 1945. Ai tempi della DDR, dopo l'esproprio, era un collegio per il liceo.
