1156 "Ruediger de Drozze" viene citato per la prima volta. La cappella del castello di San Giorgio è citata già nel 1135. Nel 1295 il castello divenne sovrano. Nel 1427 Albrecht V cedette il castello in feudo a Georg Mühlfelder, soggetto al patrocinio della chiesa, in vista dei servizi resi nella difesa contro gli ussiti. I suoi discendenti vengono infeudati dal re Ladislao Postumus con l'intero castello di Droß, ma ancora una volta con l'eccezione del patrocinio della chiesa di Droß.
