    Riceve molti visitatori, "Fat Marie". Non è stato solo Goethe a dialogare con lei. Ha molto da raccontare, la bellissima, vecchia quercia inglese. Prenditi il tuo tempo e ascolta le loro storie mentre sei seduto in panchina.

    Si dice che la quercia peduncolata (Quercus robur) sia germogliata nel 1107 presso la Große Malche, una baia che forma le pendici settentrionali del lago Tegel, vicino al castello di Tegel. L'albero prese il nome dai fratelli Alexander e Wilhelm von Humboldt, che trascorsero la loro giovinezza nel castello di Tegel, in riferimento al corpulento cuoco del castello. Anche Johann Wolfgang von Goethe visitò l'albero durante i suoi viaggi nel 1778 e si soffermò alla sua ombra.
