    Storia

    Il mulino De Swaen, situato sullo Spuidijk, fu originariamente costruito nel 1703 come De Windlust. Non si sa molto della storia prima del 1900 circa.

    Nel 1931 il mulino bruciò completamente a causa di un incendio doloso e fu ricostruito nel 1932; Sono state utilizzate molte parti del mulino De Vrede/Molen van Rosmolen di Strijen, recentemente smantellato. Ciò non era possibile senza alcuni accorgimenti: il "nuovo" cofano era piuttosto piccolo ed è stato realizzato per adattarsi allo scafo esistente con un certo sforzo.

    De Swaen, anticamente chiamato Windlust, è un mulino a vento costruito nel 1703 nel comune di Hoeksche Waard, nella provincia olandese dell'Olanda Meridionale. Il mulino si trova a Spuidijk 29 a Nieuw-Beijerland. Si tratta di un mulino rotondo in pietra del tipo marinaro con tetto in paglia. Oggi il mulino viene utilizzato solo come centro di accoglienza, perché l'interno è stato quasi completamente demolito. Nel mulino è ancora presente solo l'asse superiore con la ruota superiore.
