    Place Louis-de-Bettignies Place Louis-de-Bettignies, alla vostra destra, merita una passeggiata. Qui giungeva il Canale Deüle, porto molto trafficato fino al XVIII secolo. Sul sito dell'antico porto (angolo con Avenue du Peuple Belge) notiamo anche le case riccamente decorate (1636) nei toni dell'ocra e del rosa. Questa era la residenza del "Gilles de la Boë", un ricco mercante. Questo è il tipico stile barocco fiammingo. Oggi ospita la "médiathèque du Vieux Lille" in parte dell'edificio. Il nome della piazza si riferisce a Bettignies. un'eroina di guerra durante la prima guerra mondiale.
