    Il 24 giugno 1035 St. Liutger (Leodegar), conte di Lechsgmünd e Graisbach († 1074), su suggerimento del vescovo Heribert von Eichstätt, fondò il monastero benedettino che esiste ancora oggi.
    Al posto della chiesa cruciforme, sotto il vescovo Heribert fu costruita una chiesa romanica. La chiesa è ora solo un'abbazia e una chiesa di pellegrinaggio
