Bird Creek Park

The Inglis Yankeetown Bike Path offers an easy touring cycling experience, stretching 12.8 miles (20.6 km) with a minimal elevation gain of just 33 feet (10 metres). You can expect a pleasant ride that takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete. As you cycle, you'll pass by canals, including the Inglis Bypass Canal, and enjoy views of the Withlacoochee River and Lake Rousseau from the Inglis Dam walkway, showcasing a mix of paved and mowed grass sections.

When planning your visit, remember that this route is part of the larger Cross Florida Greenway, providing various access points. While much of the broader trail system is paved, be ready for mixed surfaces, including some mowed grass, specifically on the Inglis Yankeetown section. Parking is generally available at recreation areas along the route, such as the Inglis Dam & Island Recreation Area and the Inglis Lock Recreation Area.

This path provides a unique glimpse into "old Florida" charm, highlighted by the historical, non-operational Inglis Lock, a remnant of the ambitious Cross Florida Barge Canal project. You also have the option to explore the nearby Withlacoochee Gulf Preserve in Yankeetown, which features an observation tower within its salt marshes, offering additional natural beauty and wildlife viewing opportunities.
