Originariamente sul lato nord c'erano un portale e la porta del sacerdote.
Nell'abside si apre una finestra romanica, ridisegnata da Thomas Kuzio nel 2010.
Nel 1626 la chiesa fu gravemente danneggiata nella battaglia per i ponti sull'Elba. La ricostruzione avvenne fino al 1700.
Di questo periodo risalgono la torretta del tetto a graticcio sulla parte occidentale con una solida parete ovest e le aperture delle finestre ad arco segmentato.
