A metà degli anni '70, in via Stawowa, vicino a via 3 Maja, fu installata una fontana con acqua che sgorgava dalla bocca di una rana di ottone di 100 chili.
La rana doveva simboleggiare l'ex stagno situato nelle vicinanze (attualmente sede di un negozio Empik).
La fontana è piccola e poco appariscente, ma è un luogo di incontro preferito dagli abitanti di Katowice. Naturalmente, gli incontri non finiscono qui, iniziano e la rana funge da punto di ritrovo.
