    La storia del pellegrinaggio a Maria Langegg risale al maestro di corte di Salisburgo Matthäus Häring, che nel 1604 fece voto di costruire una cappella per l'immagine della Vergine Maria da lui venerata - l'odierna immagine miracolosa - se il suo bambino gravemente malato fosse guarito. Il bambino effettivamente guarì e la cappella fu costruita nel 1605.

    Da vedere anche l'interno luminoso della chiesa. La cupola e gran parte degli stucchi sono solo dipinti (trompe-l'oeil), ma questo lo si nota solo al secondo sguardo. Il bellissimo organo della seconda metà del 18° secolo. è stato ristrutturato nel 2000.
