    Chiesa di San Martino a Burst: una bellezza neogotica dalle radici antiche. Costruita nel 1852 sulle fondamenta di una parrocchia secolare, questa chiesa è un gioiello neogotico nel cuore di Burst. All'interno, si possono ammirare affreschi, altari in marmo e un organo storico. Un luogo dove silenzio, arte e storia convergono: il luogo perfetto per una sosta durante una passeggiata o un giro in bicicletta attraverso Erpe-Mere.

    La domenica, c'è una grande bancarella di polli dove vi verrà fame e voglia di qualcosa da mangiare. Non me l'aspettavo, ma la prossima volta so dove fare un picnic 😉

    La chiesa fu costruita tra il 1852 e il 1855. Tuttavia, la più antica menzione della chiesa risale al 1117, anno in cui l'abbazia benedettina di Vorst acquisì il patrocinio di Burst, Bambrugge e Vlekkem.

    Nel 1908, il cimitero circostante e il suo muro di cinta furono demoliti per ampliare l'Oudenaardsesteenweg.
