    La prima ruota idraulica in questo sito risale al XV secolo ed era realizzata in legno. L'attuale ruota panoramica, realizzata in metallo, è stata installata nel 1956 e ha un diametro di 11 metri.
    La noria viene utilizzata per sollevare l'acqua dall'Acequia Mayor Alquibla fino al canale di irrigazione Turbedal, consentendo l'irrigazione dei terreni della zona alta di Alcantarilla.
    Il museo, inaugurato nel 1967, espone l'etnologia della Huerta de Murcia e si concentra su vari ambiti quali l'agricoltura, l'antropologia e la cultura dell'acqua.
