    Bel lago nella riserva naturale, dove non si scava più dal 2004. Un piccolo sentiero porta intorno al lago. Sconsigliato durante o dopo piogge abbondanti, poiché diventa piuttosto fangoso e i guadi (collegamenti tra il lago e il Goldkanal) non sono più attraversabili con i piedi asciutti.

    A dare origine al lago artificiale è stata l’estrazione di ghiaia iniziata nel 1957 e interrotta definitivamente nel 2004. Lo specchio d'acqua di circa 47 ettari misura nel suo punto più lungo quasi 1,3 chilometri ed è largo circa 550 metri. Il fondo del lago, ghiaioso e prevalentemente privo di vegetazione, è quasi privo di contorni e, con alcune zone poco profonde sui lati sud ed est, ha una profondità quasi uniforme di ca.
