In epoca post-romana, la leggenda vuole che sulla collina si trovasse la tomba del leggendario fondatore della città di Treviri, Trebeta, o un luogo per la danza delle streghe. La collina prende il nome da Franz von Sickingen, che si dice abbia bombardato la città da qui durante l'assedio di Treviri nel 1522. Ma questo probabilmente non era possibile con le armi dell’epoca.

Un posto carino e tranquillo, un po' lontano da Petrisberg. Vicino, ma comunque abbastanza lontano da essere assolutamente tranquillo.

Il nome significa "collina di Franz" e commemora il cavaliere imperiale Franz von Sickingen, che si dice abbia sparato a Treviri da qui durante l'assedio del 1522.
Gli storici ipotizzano che si tratti di un tumulo del II-III sec. secolo. Tuttavia, gli scavi non hanno potuto dimostrarlo.
