The Aagtekerkse Molen is a historic gristmill located on Molenweg, just south of the charming village of Aagtekerke in the Dutch province of Zeeland. This remarkable man-made monument, built in 1801, stands out as a unique wooden hexagonal "grondzeiler" – a type of windmill where the sails almost reach the ground. It is the sole hexagonal mill in Zeeland and one of only eight in the entire Netherlands, making it a significant national heritage site, or Rijksmonument.

There are no dramatic natural features like mountains or cliffs, but the serene agricultural scenery is a highlight.

Generally, dogs are welcome on leashes on the public paths and walking routes around the Aagtekerkse Molen. However, if the mill is open for public viewing, it's unlikely that dogs would be permitted inside the historic structure itself. The primary 'hidden gem' is arguably the mill itself, being a unique hexagonal structure. Beyond that, the charm of the area lies in its quiet, rural character. Exploring the small, picturesque villages nearby, such as Aagtekerke itself, or following the network of cycling and walking paths through the polders, can reveal tranquil spots and authentic Zeeland landscapes away from more crowded tourist areas.
