    Progettata dall'ingegnere José Antonio Fernández Ordóñez, l'opera fu completata dopo la sua morte dal figlio Lorenzo e inaugurata nel 2004. Si tratta di una costruzione molto visiva e impressionante, che ricorda una grande libellula, ed è rifinita con un rivestimento in legno di Lapacho, appositamente trattato per evitare che le persone vi scivolino sopra. Questo moderno ponte pedonale, costruito tra il Paseo Abandoibarra e l'Avenida de las Universidad, accanto all'Università di Deusto, è dedicato al sacerdote Pedro Arrupe di Bilbao, rinnovatore della Compagnia di Gesù, morto a Roma nel 1991.
