While the longest individual trail is Purple Haze at 2.2 miles, riders often combine sections to create custom loops. For those seeking a challenge, look for the designated 'black sections' which incorporate technical features like rock gardens, berms, and log rolls. Many of these advanced sections also have easier 'green options' for less experienced riders, ensuring everyone can enjoy the trails.

These sections demand good bike handling skills and offer a dynamic experience with short, punchy climbs and fast downhills.

Is there a fee for parking at the Winona Lakes MTB trail network, and are permits required to ride?

What kind of terrain can I expect on the Winona Lakes MTB trails, and how does it handle different weather conditions?

The terrain at Winona Lakes is predominantly hardpacked clay, which generally provides good traction. However, riders should be aware that some corners feature soft sand, and rooty sections and small rocks (referred to as 'baby-heads' by some riders) are common. What is the future development plan for the Winona Lakes MTB trail network?

The Kosciusko County Velo (KCV Cycling Club) has ambitious plans for the Winona Lakes MTB trail network. In 2021, they acquired 15 adjacent acres with the goal of developing a comprehensive bike park.
