Non ci sono informazioni sull'età di questo tunnel; forse risale all'inizio del XVIII secolo. Apparteneva all'omonima miniera di carbone Maximus. Al di sopra dell'imboccatura della galleria è visibile un abbassamento del terreno, da attribuire al crollo della galleria dopo pochi metri.
