    Cerný Kríž (in inglese croce nera) è un luogo dove fino al 1910 c'era solo una capanna del guardaboschi. L'estensione di varie linee ferroviarie ha finalmente creato un passaggio e un collegamento dalla Boemia alla Baviera. Poiché il luogo non aveva nome, la stazione prese il nome dalla croce che si trovava vicino all'incrocio sulle rive della Moldava Fredda.
