    La Welsche Häusle commemora i valdesi che furono espulsi dalla Savoia francese (gallese) a causa della loro fede protestante e che fondarono Bourcet (oggi Neuhengstett) nel 1700. Nel tragitto tra casa e lavoro a Calw, i Neuhengstetter usavano la capanna come rifugio per riposarsi in caso di maltempo. Non si conosce l'età del rifugio; venne menzionato per la prima volta nel 1835 come ricovero di fucilieri. I tigli attorno alla capanna furono dichiarati monumento naturale nel 1949.
