Costruito con murature bugnate della regione, il castello si distingue per il mastio a pianta quadrata. Inoltre la fortificazione sfruttava il fiume come fossato di difesa.
Sebbene non sia possibile visitarne l'interno, vale la pena contemplarlo dall'esterno passeggiando lungo le rive del fiume Tirón.
