    La statua di Carlo Gonzaga è opera di Alphonse Colle, di Charleville, autore anche dei monumenti ai caduti di Charleville e Mézières. La fontana fu costruita per la prima volta in Piazza Ducale nel 1899 su iniziativa di un ricco mecenate della Rivoluzione Industriale e poi spostata nella sua posizione attuale nel 1999.

    La statua di Carlo de Gonzaga
    Questa bellissima statua in bronzo fu inaugurata il 17 ottobre 1899, in memoria del fondatore della nuova città nel XVII secolo. La statua, così come i personaggi secondari, sono di Alphonse Colle, allievo di Aristide Croisy.

    Nel 1999, dopo aver trascorso un secolo al centro di Place Ducale, è stato spostato all'inizio di rue Pierre-Bérégovoy per rispettare la volontà del principe fondatore e ripristinare l'omogeneità di Place Ducale. Segna anche l'ingresso al centro storico di Charleville e accoglie i visitatori provenienti dalla stazione.
