    Il castello, costruito a metà del 17° secolo come successore di un castello medievale del 13° secolo, fu di proprietà dell'Abbazia di Herzogenburg dal 1696 al 1851 e fu utilizzato come caseificio. A Jakob Prandtauer sono attribuite le planimetrie dell'edificio barocco a tre piani con timpani a volute sui lati lunghi. L'ultimo proprietario aristocratico, il barone von Freyenfels, cedette il fatiscente castello allo stato della Bassa Austria. Oggi di proprietà privata e restaurato, è stato ampliato con appartamenti e studio d'arte. L'associazione Schüttkasten Primmersdorf utilizza la Schüttkasten per mostre ed eventi dal 1993.
