    In questo tratto la linea 2324 del treno merci è interrata nel tunnel di Staufen. In superficie, c'è un collegamento tranquillo tra Rath e Grafenberg. Il percorso si snoda in parte lungo la foresta di Aaper, in parte lungo sentieri tranquilli o strade lungo una cintura verde. In due punti bisogna fare attenzione quando si attraversa Mörsenbroicher Weg e Graf-Recke-Straße.
