    Chiesa di Sant'Amando

    Qui esisteva da molto tempo una chiesa dedicata a Sant'Amandus, che probabilmente apparteneva alla parrocchia di  Gors-Opleeuw. Questa chiesa fu menzionata nel 1246.
    Nel 1835 la parrocchia di Zammelen divenne indipendente. Dal 1865 al 1872, dopo che la vecchia chiesa fu dichiarata fatiscente, fu costruita una nuova chiesa. L'architetto era Herman Jaminé.
    Si tratta di una chiesa in muratura a navata unica a navata unica in stile eclettico con elementi prevalentemente neoromanici. La torre è costruita a metà e ha quattro sezioni

    La chiesa di Sint-Amandus era probabilmente un ramo di quella di Gorsleeuw. Originariamente il capitolo di Tongeren possedeva un quarto del diritto di patronato sulla chiesa. Nel 1246 questo fu trasferito al capitolo di Borgloon. Un terzo delle decime andava al parroco di Zammelen, due terzi al decano del capitolo di Tongeren. La parrocchia di Zammelen divenne indipendente nel 1835.
