È la terza della sua specie a questo punto. La prima cappella esisteva probabilmente già nel 1700, quando, secondo la leggenda, dei maiali in cerca di cibo nel vicino giardino delle ghiande portarono alla luce la piccola figura di Sant'Antonio sopra l'odierno tabernacolo dell'altare maggiore, interpretata dai pastori come segno divino e costruì una piccola cappella. In occasione del 200° anniversario nel 1964 fu eretta la fontana Antonius sotto la cappella.
