All'inizio dello Spiegelvijver nello Stadspark di Aalst si trova una suggestiva costruzione ad arco. Questa porta fu originariamente costruita nel 1758 come parte degli edifici posteriori della vecchia casa Van der Haegen in Nieuwstraat 37. Nel 1964, quando questa casa fu demolita, il consiglio comunale acquistò la fila di archi e li fece ricostruire all'inizio dello Spiegelvijver.
