Il mulino fu costruito nel 1804 come mulino per polder, per conto dell'Ambacht Moordrecht. Nel 1863 il mulino fu trasferito alla neonata Oostpolder a Schieland. Il Mallemolen rimase in funzione fino al 1904. In quell'anno fu costruita una stazione di pompaggio vicino al mulino, che era azionata da un motore aspirante a gas. Un anno dopo, il mulino è stato smantellato per essere convertito in abitazione per il conducente della stazione di pompaggio.
