    Il più grande tumulo funerario di Drenthe.
    Sorto ai tempi della cultura della Tomba Unica (2850-2450 aC ca.) come ultima dimora di un personaggio importante.
    Molti anni dopo, nell'età del bronzo medio (1800-1100 aC circa), furono costruite altre due tombe nel tumulo.
    In quell'occasione, il tumulo fu sollevato e abbandonato tutt'intorno. Nell'età del bronzo questo tumulo faceva parte di un campo funerario molto più ampio e successivamente di un grande campo di urne.


    Il nome "Eppies Bargie" deriva dal nome di un ex proprietario del terreno adiacente, un certo Egbert (Eppie) Vos, che si dice si sia impiccato sulla collina.
