    È davvero difficile individuare la sorgente del fiume più importante dell'Andalusia e, anche se i tecnici l'hanno ormai localizzata, è comunque sorprendente che non abbia quasi acqua e che si trovi esattamente in quel punto, perché in allo stesso modo potrebbe essere stato localizzato in qualsiasi altro dei tanti affluenti con maggiore portata che riversano le loro acque nel letto del fiume, come il fiume Aguasmulas o il fiume Borosa.
    Qualunque sia il motivo, questa sorgente è secca per gran parte dell'anno, ma nonostante ciò ha un accesso migliore rispetto ad altri luoghi, forse questa è la spiegazione.
