Il luogo passò probabilmente al vescovo di Eichstätt già nell'895. L'odierna chiesa parrocchiale cattolica di Irfersdorf, consacrata St. Margareta, era originariamente una chiesa fortificata con fortificazioni cimiteriali. È un monumento quotato (numero D-1-76-114-121). Secondo l'elenco dei monumenti, il complesso comprende la chiesa ad aula con tetto a falde, completata nel 1437, e una navata barocca nel 1703 e nel 1715/16. Il piano superiore della torre risale al 1766.
