    "Tobias von Dempter e Anna Bocks mi fecero costruire", scrisse in latino il futuro sindaco di Hameln sopra il suo ingresso nel 1607. I genitori del costruttore avevano lasciato i Paesi Bassi (Deventer) nel XVI secolo per motivi religiosi. In perfetto stile rinascimentale, le linee orizzontali della facciata sono fortemente enfatizzate. Questo risultato è ottenuto attraverso la disposizione a strati delle fasce.
