Wilhelm Moelle progettò nel 1878 la pianta dell'edificio di questa chiesa in stile neogotico come chiesa a sala.
Questa chiesa è un edificio storico dal 1978. Era di grande importanza per gli agricoltori di montagna evangelici e contribuì al fatto che nuovi lavoratori dai monti Harz e dalla Sassonia arrivassero a Bestwig.
