    La sua origine è quella di un antico castello-fortezza donato nel 1399 agli eremiti di San Agustín da D. Pedro Ponce de León, che vi rimase fino al 1835. Dal 1882 è curato dalla comunità francescana.
    Da segnalare il chiostro mudéjar del XV secolo, la biblioteca, il museo e l'immagine della Vergine, patrona della città, il cui onomastico si celebra l'8 settembre, lasciando in processione il Santuario davanti alla massiccia presenza di devoti provenienti da tutta l'Andalusia.
