    Dopo che Großkarolinenfeld fu colonizzata da immigrati del Palatinato, i primi servizi religiosi ebbero luogo nella vicina canonica e scuola, anch'essa completata nel 1805 secondo i piani di Gustav Vorr. Una chiesa simultanea originariamente pianificata per cattolici, luterani e riformati non si è realizzata. Invece, la chiesa fu costruita in stile classico secondo i piani del capomastro di Rosenheim Johann Karmann e le correzioni del consigliere edilizio di Monaco Gustav Vorr.
