    Al drago di Friburgo nel giardino cittadino di Friburgo è dedicato un monumento molto particolare. Si dice che abbia salvato la vita ad alcuni friburghesi durante la seconda guerra mondiale quando, poche ore prima del raid aereo del 1944, comunicò al mondo la sua premonizione attraverso il suo comportamento vistoso. Molti cittadini si rifugiarono istintivamente nel vicino rifugio antiaereo di Schlossberg Friburgo, dove sopravvissero all'attentato. La città giardino e il quartiere attorno al parco furono tra le zone più danneggiate dai bombardamenti.

    Il giardino cittadino di Friburgo è un parco di 2,6 ettari nel quartiere di Neuburg.
    Ha alberi secolari e un grande roseto e si trova tra Leopoldring, Jacob Burckhardt, Ludwig e Mozart Street, vicino al centro di Friburgo.
    È collegato a Karlsplatz tramite il ponte pedonale Karlssteg in cemento precompresso. Dal 2008 lo Schlossbergbahn, un ascensore inclinato, sale sullo Schlossberg.
    Ha sostituito la funivia dello Schlossberg costruita nel 1968.
    Il padiglione musicale nel parco viene utilizzato in estate, ad esempio, per concerti e come palcoscenico all'aperto. B. ha utilizzato il festival all'aperto Theatersport nello Stadtgarten, che si svolge dal 1997.
