The Knokkebrug Drawbridge is a historically significant movable bridge located in the Belgian province of West Flanders, standing at an elevation of approximately 1 meter. This notable structure spans the Yser river at its confluence with the Ieperlee Canal, marking a unique geographical point where the sub-municipalities of Reninge (Lo-Reninge), Merkem (Houthulst), and Nieuwkapelle (Diksmuide) converge. Named after the strategic 16th-century Fort Knokke, the drawbridge and its surroundings offer a fascinating glimpse into centuries of military and waterway history.
