    Sence Valley Forestry Park, parte della National Forest. Un buon punto di partenza per una passeggiata. Ci sono brevi passeggiate intorno al lago e attraverso i boschi, questo è anche il punto di partenza per la passeggiata del compleanno della foresta nazionale.
    Buon parcheggio gratuito aperto durante il giorno, servizi igienici e pannello informativo.
    Il mio navigatore satellitare ha cercato di indirizzarmi verso un vecchio ingresso ma abbastanza facile da girare da lì all'ingresso principale (continua a girare a sinistra) se succede lo stesso.

    Il Sence Valley Forest Park è un'area significativa di piantumazione boschiva che ha trasformato l'ex sito di estrazione del carbone a cielo aperto, nel Leicestershire nord-occidentale, in un paradiso per la fauna selvatica e i visitatori. La miniera di carbone chiuse nel 1996 e solo due anni dopo furono piantati 98.000 pini corsi, larici e pioppi. Altri 100 acri di terreno furono acquistati nel 2018 e questi furono piantati con una gamma di conifere e latifoglie, come foresta sostenibile per il futuro.
