    Questo passaggio di Wümme viene utilizzato dal 1670 per la "vecchia strada postale" sulla linea Harburg-Nienburg-Amsterdam tra le stazioni di Welle e Visselhövede. A quel tempo era ancora un profondo guado che servì, a partire dal 1756, alle truppe francesi durante l'avanzata nella Guerra dei Sette Anni. Nel 1814 fu costruito il primo ponte di legno con annesse rampe. I contadini di Todtshorn sono sempre stati utilizzati per mantenere questo lato e quelli di Wesseloh per l'altro.
