    Come molti monumenti ed edifici, il castello fu costruito nel 1896 in occasione delle celebrazioni del millennio dell'Impero ungherese sotto Árpád. Il complesso edilizio a forma di castello, costruito in stile medievale con porta del castello, torri a punta, frontoni e merli, fu utilizzato per l'Esposizione del Millennio di Budapest, che si tenne in questa occasione nel 1896. Fu costruito sotto la direzione del maestro ungherese costruttore Ignác Alpár. Ignác Alpár ha cercato di combinare nel suo lavoro gli stili architettonici tipici dell'Ungheria.

    Di fronte al Museo Agricolo, ma sempre sull'isola del castello, si trova un monumento progettato da Miklós Ligeti nel 1903. Prende il nome in onore di qualcuno del XII/XIII secolo. Qui è stato costruito lo scrittore anonimo Anonymus, vissuto nel XIX secolo. Si presume che abbia scritto la prima cronaca ungherese (latino: Gesta Hungarorum) per conto del re Béla IV.
