    La storia di questo mulino come strumento di rettifica è piuttosto oscura. Già all'inizio del 20° secolo "De Zandweg" cadde in disuso e cadde in rovina. Quando il comune di Rotterdam acquistò il mulino nel 1959, era in condizioni decisamente desolate.
