    Agli abitanti e ai visitatori dell'insediamento viene offerta una vasta gamma di attività ricreative
    a Lohbrügge-Nord. Nel 1964, sul sito di un'ex cava di argilla, venne creata un'area ricreativa di circa 17 ettari. Una rete di sentieri costeggia tre piccoli stagni, ruscelli, parchi giochi e attraversa diverse aree verdi.
    Gli amanti del giardinaggio troveranno un'area dal design formale, con sentieri curvi, piante perenni e aiuole colorate con fiori estivi. Il fulcro del giardino progettato è la voliera alla base del giardiniere. Parrocchetti, fringuelli, pappagalli e perfino galline scorrazzano nella grande gabbia per uccelli, deliziando i visitatori grandi e piccoli.

    Negli anni '60 e '70, molti urbanisti tedeschi seguirono il concetto allora attuale di separazione funzionale tra vita, lavoro, svago e movimento. Anche il grande complesso residenziale Lohbrügge-Nord nel distretto di Bergedorf di Amburgo e la relativa area verde sono stati realizzati secondo questo modello.
