La torre fu demolita per la prima volta intorno al 1890 (fatiscente).
La seconda volta dopo un colpo diretto nella seconda guerra mondiale. Ci è voluto un po' di tempo per ricostruire questa volta.
Quindi non potrebbe essere costruito alto come il picco originale perché la base aerea di Nörvenich è a solo un chilometro di distanza. Ecco perché sono in vigore restrizioni di altezza.
