    La Körnerplatz ha assunto la sua forma attuale quando alla fine del XIX secolo fu costruito il ponte sull'Elba "la Meraviglia Blu". Fino ad allora qui si trovava il verde comunale di Loschwitz con numerose case a graticcio. Al loro posto, a cavallo del sec.

    Anche la Körnerplatz è di nuovo fantastica, anche se il traffico intenso è un vero "piccolo problema". Oggi molti edifici appartengono probabilmente alla famiglia von Thurn und Taxis. Degni di nota sono ovviamente gli edifici splendidamente ristrutturati del vecchio mercato, il Bräustübl e, naturalmente, la stazione a valle della funicolare.
