    La Chiesa di San Nicola a Lochristi è intitolata a San Nicola di Mira, patrono di mercanti, studenti, viaggiatori, marinai, figlie nubili e carcerate.
    La torre di attraversamento con una breve guglia in ardesia fu costruita nel XV secolo con pietra di Balegem e Ledian.
    All'interno della chiesa troviamo una serie di interessanti mobili e statue, tra cui la statua lignea policroma di Maria portata dalla cappella di Lobos.
    Questa statua miracolosa di Maria rimase illesa quando la chiesa fu bombardata durante la seconda guerra mondiale, sebbene la pala d'altare fosse gravemente danneggiata.

    La chiesa di San Nicola era originariamente un edificio in stile gotico del XIII secolo, ma fu completamente ristrutturata e ridecorata nel 1654, 1720 e 1837. Il risultato fu una chiesa classicista con una torre centrale gotica.

    Intorno alla chiesa, oltre al Monumento ai Caduti, troverete anche diverse statue contemporanee, tra cui quelle di Reynaert de Vos, Padre Damiano e l'opera d'arte floreale "Amanti dei Fiori".
