    Lo Schlingenbach è un affluente lungo 6,2 km dell'Agger a Overath e in parte a Engelskirchen. La sorgente dello Schlingenbach si trova sul versante nord-est del Kleiner Heckberg (a 348,1 la quota più alta del distretto di Rheinisch-Bergisch) a un'altitudine di 323 m.

    Ad eccezione di un breve tratto a nord-est della località Schlingenthal a Overath, l'intero corso del torrente dalla zona della sorgente alla foce si trova all'interno della riserva naturale Schlingenbachtal.
