    Il nome "Haslach" deriva dall'antico tedesco "Hasala" per arbusto di nocciole e "Aha" per acqua corrente. Tuttavia, i noccioli sono diventati rari lungo l'odierno Dorfbach. C'è stato un tempo in cui si presumeva erroneamente che il nome derivasse da coniglio. Per questo lo si ritrova ancora oggi nello stemma sulla fontana del paese e sulla Scuola Pestalozzi.
