    Il Lago Nero è stato creato nel tardo medioevo da una frana dello Spiegelstein. La cicatrice naturale della Verunite Schrofen, ancora oggi visibile, testimonia questo grande evento medievale.

    La superficie dell'acqua ha all'incirca la forma di un boomerang, con una piccola isola sul lato sud del lago con un solo albero su di essa. C'è un piccolo sentiero intorno al lago.
